Welcome to my website. Here you will find information about me and my writing, as well as a selection of my poetry.

I have published one collection of poetry, a verse novel, a chapbook and appeared with two other poets in a book. You can read a selection of poems from Obeying the Call and reviews of the book. My verse novel The Barrier Range was published by Flat Chat Press in July 2006 and reprinted in 2007.

You can also read some of my more recent poetry, specifically an extract from a suite of poems The Divorce Papers. You can read a review by Lyndon Walker here. If you would like a copy of The Divorce Papers chapbook then contact me on the email address below and I will send you a copy for $5 which includes postage. The Divorce Papers was published as a chapbook in 2010 and appeared in Triptych Poets: Issue One. You can read reviews of Triptych Poets and the poem Things to (and not to) do which has been called by one reviewer as “quite possibly the most enjoyable found poem I have ever read”.

The Barrier Range is a verse novel which tells the story one man’s journey into the interior of Australia to find his dying uncle in Broken Hill. The book draws on the exploits of 19th century explorers Charles Sturt, who discovered the Barrier Ranges (where Broken Hill is located) on his search for an inland sea, and Burke and Wills who passed near Broken Hill on their ill-fated trip through the desert to the Gulf of Carpentaria. You can read praise for The Barrier Range and read excerpts.

I am currently working on my next manuscript about the life and work of dead poets. You can read two of these portrait poems.
